The 10 minute secret to honey garlic shrimp!

This honey garlic shrimp does not require any marinating time. The best quick and simple meal idea, ready in just 10 minutes! One thing to keep in mind is that the timing does not account for defrosting frozen shrimp. The following are some of the tips for doing this culinary magic trick (or skip to the recipe below):

  • Salt, onion powder, and minced garlic are combined with the shrimp. This enables the seasoning to cover the shrimp completely at first.
  • Create a sauce quickly. You only need honey, soy sauce, and vinegar, and it's perfect!
  • 1 to 2 minutes of sautéing per side. To Perfect Sautéed Shrimp, learn about the ideal sear.
  • Add the sauce after turning the heat off! It's crucial to turn off the heat to prevent the sauce from evaporating as it hits the hot pan.

The best shrimp to buy

These days, there are a ton of options available when buying shrimp at the grocery. Here are some tips for preparing this honey garlic shrimp:

  • a medium-sized shrimp (or large). Because you get more bites, medium is excellent! However, both options are valid. Large is referred to as 31 to 40 count, while Medium is referred to as 41 to 50 count.
  • Put the tail on or peel it. We prefer tail on for this recipe because it has a lovely appearance. However, before eating them, you must use your hands to remove the tails! Peeled is also great, so.
  • Either fresh or frozen. Because most shrimp are promptly flash frozen, they are practically the same freshness. Just make sure to thaw the shrimp ahead of time.
  • Captured in the wild. Fish taken in the wild in your country is usually a more sustainable option. There are other quality possibilities in well-regulated farms; read the Seafood Watch Consumer Guide for more information.

How to thaw shrimp

What is the best way to thaw frozen shrimp? The night before is the simplest method! But, if you're like us and rarely plan ahead, there is a method for you as well. Here's how to thaw frozen shrimp for this honey garlic shrimp recipe:

  • Place the frozen shrimp in the fridge the day before.
  • On the day before cooking, place the frozen shrimp in a big dish of extremely cold water. Every 5 minutes, stir the bowl to break up clumps of frozen shrimp. Defrosting the shrimp should take roughly 15 minutes. Before usage, make sure to pat it dry!
